Personal Data Protection and Management

By applying to the Competition (SHE STEM Award), the Participant gives consent to the Organizer
(Society of Women Engineers, Czech Republic CIN 08209723) to process personal data provided during
the application process (including attachments) in accordance with GDPR (General Data Protection
Regulation) and Czech personal data protection laws. Consent is given voluntarily for the purpose of
organizing the Competition (to process the application, to evaluate the application by jury, to communicate
with participants, to invite and award the winners, to share with partners of the Competition) for the duration
of the Competition until formal end of the Competition and for the period needed to protect the services
and legitimate interests of the Organizer (e.g., to keep a complete list of participants and to keep track of
Competition history), but no longer than 10 years after the end of the Competition or until the consent is
revoked.

Participant bears in mind that during the Competition we will process the following personal data: full
name, contact information (e-mail, phone number, Linkedln profile), university and field of study, the
bachelor’s thesis, opponent’s, and supervisor’s reports.

On top of that, the Organizer may use the data for the following:

1) To promote the Competition and its Participants via social and traditional media;
2) For promotional and marketing purposes of the Organizer;
3) To create and publish marketing materials related to the Competition and similar events organized
by the Organizer.

By applying to the Competition, the applicant subscribes for receiving a newsletter from the Organizer.

The Participant can limit (e.g. unsubscribe from a newsletter) or revoke his consent at any time by
contacting the Organizer at SWE.brnoaffiliate@gmail.com.

We retain your personal information for the duration of the limitation periods unless the law provides for
a longer period of retention or we have specified otherwise in specific cases.
The Participant has the right to access personal data, the right to request an explanation and, where
appropriate, the right to request the removal of the situation, in particular blocking, correction, addition
or disposal of his/her data and other rights specified in Act No. 101/2000 Coll., on the protection of
personal data, as amended.

Your personal data will also be processed by Partners of the Competition for the purposes relevant to the
organization of the Competition.

If you feel that we do not lawfully handle your data, you have the right to contact the Office for Personal
Data Protection at any time. We will be very pleased if you first inform us of this suspicion so that we
can do something about it and correct any mistakes. Data Protection Office in Czechia is Úřad pro ochranu
